Are you a true alchemist? If you are then I dare you to change the world into words.

Something to remember on Insecure Writer's Support Group day. Carry on, brave writer. Carry on.

  2. I'd rather change lead into gold; it's a lot more profitable.

    1. Ha. Yeah that would be pretty awesome for the poor people there. Bring new meaning to "golden showers."

  3. LOL, Pat.

Or simply, "...change worlds into words." but then again, I also see it as changing words into worlds.... Have a good week Michale!

  4. I'd like the gold so I could stay home and write more words. Happy IWSG day!

  5. I'm not sure I like the idea of the world changed into words. Words can be so limiting. Someone once said, I can't recall who, that by naming something--reducing it to words--is to limit it.

    1. I don't think that's what the quote is saying. Rather, it means as a writer to take what you see and put it in words that are so beautiful, that anyone reading them can get the mental image in their mind of what you are referring to. And the insecurity (obviously) is that we won't do it justice. Really, it lies at the insecurity of all artists (not just writers) to create something indistinguishable from what is found in nature.

  7. I like to think I capture the world with words, render them into a kind of alchemy. But on most days I feel like I'm just scribbling.

  8. And hopefully change it for the better. Better words, better world(s). Nice quote.

  9. I agree. Let's add art and music too. All of it elevates us. (Personally, I'll stick to the words.)
